Who do you work with?

Children, teens, adults and families. Riverway Therapy also supports people living with ADHD, anxiety and autism, and with individuals who have experienced trauma(s).

Are sessions in person or online?

Both. Sessions are held in person in North Bay, or online across Ontario.

What if the weather is bad or the roads are closed?

As we know, living in the North can be unpredictable in the winter months. Riverway’s policy is to switch any in-person sessions to online on all ‘snow days’ when conditions are poor.

Do you direct bill?

Yes, through Victim Services (including the ICE Program and Nipissing District), Métis Nation of Ontario, NIHB and Medavie Blue Cross. Please contact us to confirm your specific coverage, as a pre-approval is often required before beginning therapy.

How do I book?

Use the booking page, call 705-492-4416, or email riverwaytherapy@gmail.com. If you don’t see a time that works, add your name to the waitlist and you’ll be contacted when a space opens up.

Are dogs part of every session?

No. Canine-assisted therapy is optional and is offered in person in North Bay. Sessions can always take place without a canine helper.

What is the cancellation policy?

The services provided at Riverway are highly customized and require a great deal of planning and schedule juggling to accommodate. Last-minute cancellations can snowball into challenges that impact other clients and families. We therefore ask that a minimum of 48 hours’ notice be provided to cancel or reschedule. Of course, last-minute, unavoidable circumstances occur and in these instances every effort will be made to reschedule at a mutually convenient time.

I’m not sure what kind of support I need.

That’s okay. You don’t need to arrive with the right words. Tell us a little about what’s going on, and you can explore the next step together.
